Park City preschoolers are learning computer science without computers, and having fun as their introduced to foundational skills in the classroom. Pre-K students build durable communication and collaboration skills, along with computational thinking, through screen-free activities such as pattern recognition, sequencing, and hands-on problem solving.
Ecker Hill's new MakerSpace, funded by a PCEF Classroom Grant, has become a student favorite. The open, lab-style room is filled with tools, creative supplies, and technology – all things that make hands-on learning accessible and fun.
To me, PCEF is supporting not only our school district but our whole community, by providing funding and amazing education opportunities that would not be possible otherwise. It takes a community to raise a child, and the Foundation is a critical component.
